NCMHCE Exam Preparation Workshops

PTI has conducted more than 40 NCMHCE ExamPrep workshops and helped 2000+ mental health counselors successfully pass the NCMHCE.

PTI conducts intensive workshops to prepare candidates for the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (click here for a list of states that require or use this exam). PTI sponsored workshops cover all the content domains included in the examination. The workshop also features innovative tools and techniques for test taking and case simulation analysis.

The exam workshop is conducted by practicing clinical mental health counselors with over 30 years of experience in the field, and who are also graduate counselor educators and supervisors.

PTI has sponsored this workshop for mental health counselors through the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association since 1994.

Subject Review
This review is designed to prepare you for the NCMHCE. It is an in-depth overview of topics covered in the examination including: Diagnosis, Treatment Planning, Special Treatment Issues, Substance Abuse, Psychopharmacology, Professional Practice, Outcomes, Counseling Theories, Counseling Modalities, Career Development, and more. The workshop is designed to provide you with the information needed to pass the exam. The format allows ample time to ask the questions needed to help you understand how to best use your knowledge.

Test Taking Techniques
This experience provides you with traditional test taking techniques as well as personal insights into your individual style of learning and test taking abilities. You are given sample tests modeled after the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Exam to have the opportunity to both become familiar with the exam structure and see how they perform within that structure. (PTI also has on-line practice simulations at ExamAce. ). You are also shown how to improve and optimize your ability to use your knowledge to successfully pass the exam. The test taking unit features mind mapping techniques, key words analysis, case scenario and case simulation analysis, and crossword puzzles and flashcards for focused learning.
